Products Description

Today, plant growth lights have been widely used in various modern planting scenarios, including greenhouse supplementary lighting, indoor planting systems, vertical farm multi-layer cultivation, and closed environments such as container farms.

In greenhouses, LED plant lights can make up for the problem of insufficient natural light in winter or rainy days; in indoor planting and vertical farms, it becomes the core light source, achieving precise spectrum control and uninterrupted production throughout the year; while container farms rely entirely on efficient and energy-saving LED plant lights, which can still stably produce high-quality crops under extreme climates or limited urban space conditions.

How to use led grow lights for indoor plants?

1. Choose the right LED plant light

Spectrum requirements: Different growth stages require different spectra:

Seedling stage: T5-18w, red and blue spectrum. 60cm/90cm/120cm can be customized.

Blue light (400-500nm) can promote root and leaf development in the seedling stage.

Growth period: full spectrum (400-700nm) provides balanced light.

Choose the appropriate model according to the plant species. For example, quantum board plant light (100w/200/400w) is suitable for growing vegetables and flowers; spider led grow light (650w-800w) series is suitable for growing cannabis.

Flowering/fruiting period: red light (600-700nm) + far red light (730nm) promote flowering and fruit ripening. Cannabis can choose 800w-1500w foldable spider grow light, greenhouse flowers (rose/chrysanthemum/phalaenopsis, etc.) can choose 600w-800w ceiling light.

Power and coverage:

Low power (18-36W): suitable for small plants or seedlings.

Medium to high power (100-400W): suitable for medium-sized plants such as vegetables and flowers.

High power (650-1500w): suitable for crops that require strong light, such as cannabis and tomatoes.

2. Set a reasonable hanging height

Seedling stage: The lamp is 30-50cm away from the plant to avoid burns.

Growing period: Adjust to 40-60cm to ensure uniform lighting.

Flowering period: It can be reduced to 30-40cm to enhance red light irradiation.

Note: Different lamps have different light intensities. It is recommended to refer to the product manual or consult professional sales staff to optimize the height.

3. Control the lighting time

Leafy vegetables/herbs: 12-16 hours/day (simulate long daylight).

Flowering plants (such as cannabis):

Vegetative growth period: 18 hours of light + 6 hours of darkness.

Flowering period: Adjust to 12 hours of light + 12 hours of darkness to induce flowering.

Succulents/Cacti: 10-12 hours of light is enough to avoid excessive growth.

4. Combine ventilation and temperature and humidity management

LED lamps generate low heat, but air circulation is still required to prevent mold growth.

Ideal environment: temperature 18-28°C, humidity 40-70% (adjusted depending on the plant type).

5. Regular maintenance and observation

Check plant reactions: If the leaves turn yellow or curl, the light intensity may be too high; if the stems are slender, the light intensity needs to be increased.

Clean lamps: Dust will affect the efficiency of light, and it is recommended to wipe the surface of the lamp beads every month.

FAQ

Q1: Can LED plant lights be turned on 24 hours a day?

A: Not recommended. Plants need a dark period to breathe, and continuous light may cause stress reactions.

Q2: Can ordinary LED lights replace plant growth lights?

A: No. Ordinary LEDs lack the spectrum required by plants (such as red light/blue light) and are much less efficient than professional plant lights.

Q3: How can a novice choose a suitable plant light?

A: Please provide detailed planting information (plant type/planting area/planting environment, etc.) to our sales engineer so that we can develop a suitable plan.
