Roses Yield Feedbacks from Greenhouse Grower

Westland Tech., recently received a feedback from our Russian greenhouse rose grower client.

 

This record was lasted from September 2nd, 2023  to March 30th, 2024.

 

And PPFD was recorded by Everfine PLA-30 PAR value meter.

During the light supplement period, the total amount of PAR( Photosynthetically Active Radiation ) in the LED grow lights equipped greenhouse and the regular greenhouse was 3193 μmol/m² and 2365 μmol/m² respectively.

As shown in chart, after supplementary lighting, the total amount of PAR received by the crops increased by 35%.

 

 

What Result Grower Get?

 

 

Compared greenhouse rose without LED grow lights, roses empowered with LED grow lights, the growth condition is better, the leaf area is larger, the leaf color is darker and more shiny, the stem is thicker, the circumference of the flower bud is larger, and the proportion of grade A flowers has also increased. The color also became brighter after fill lights.

Red light plays a key role in plant photosynthesis. It can effectively promote the elongation of rose stems and the accumulation of carbohydrates. Adequate red light can accelerate the transformation of roses from vegetative growth to reproductive growth, prompting roses to bud and bloom earlier and increase the number of flowers.

 

Infrared light can regulate the photoperiodic response of rose plants, affecting their perception of the length of day and night, and has an auxiliary effect on the regulation of the flowering time and flowering period of roses. It also participates in regulating the hormone balance in the rose body and promotes the overall growth and development of the plant.

 

Green light can regulate the stomatal conductance of rose plants, affect gas exchange and water transpiration, and help improve the absorption and transportation of nutrients by roses, allowing the plants to grow stronger.

 

Blue light has an important influence on the morphological construction of roses. It can regulate the size, thickness and shape of rose leaves, enhance the phototropism of roses, make the plant more compact and the leaves more reasonably arranged, and increase the content of some secondary metabolites in roses, which helps to improve the quality of roses.
